The MSC Visual Arts Committee is celebrating a new kind of comic book hero in the latest Reynolds Gallery exhibition, “El Peso Hero.” It does not tell the tale of a billionaire in an iron suit, nor does it feature a web-slinging teenager. Instead, graphic novelist Hector Rodriguez presents readers with the illustrated life of Ignacio Rivera, a Mexican-American hero who prowls the U.S./Mexico Border to offer protection and safe travel for all those who are seeking refuge. The MSC VAC officially introduced the exhibit to Aggies on Thursday Feb. 21, with Rodriguez himself in attendance and providing commentary on the 16-year journey of his border wall guardian.
