Photo: Muralist Mario Chacon worked on restoring a mural painted by fellow muralist Michael Schnorr in 1980 at the San Ysidro health clinic. Schnorr passed away in 2012.
San Diego, California — The children of a beloved muralist are finding a way to connect with their late father’s work with the help of an artist and a faded mural in San Ysidro. Wearing blue gloves and holding paint brushes, Xochitl, 14,and Dhali, 11, followed the guidance of local artist Mario Chacon while re-painting the border of the 35-foot-wide mural.
