Latino street vendors are such a huge part of California’s culture, few people give them a second thought. Rocío Rosales, Assistant Professor of Sociology, UC Irvine, wanted to explore what life was like for the vendors that serve frutero, the made-to-order fruit salads in push carts. Many of them are undocumented, and struggle against harsh anti-vending laws in Los Angeles.
