Los Angeles, California — After a loss of roughly 60 percent in recent years of historic, Latino murals throughout Los Angeles, El Pollo Loco is determined to revive and restore the unique art form, including one unveiled this week on the side of the restaurant chain’s original location in MacArthur Park, according to company officials. This latest work, at 503 S. Alvarado St., an El Pollo Loco locale that opened almost 40 years ago, was completed by local Latino artist Juan Hector Ponce, who chose to showcase a woman sharing her culture through dance.
