Teatro Máscara Mágica’s holiday favorite “La Pastorela” was once San Diego’s longest-running theater tradition. Until last year, when it wasn’t — the result of a venue issue that forced the show to sit out the season for the first time in 25 years. A commitment to honor Chunky Sanchez, the local musician-activist and Chicano hero who died in 2016 at age 64.
